A more digital way would be to record with a digital voice recorder and 'cut' two CDR's on your laptop/computer whilst the HCP is present to keep as a copy, I cannot see any reason why this system would be declined as both parties would have an 'exact' copy of the F2F
.
Of course we now have the EU's imfamous GDPR act so maybe someone with legal knowladge could advise us all if this would be a legitamate act or not.

Hope you dont mind me posting in this thread but just wanted to keep all questions and answers in one area.

So if we tape our own PIP F to F assessments do they allow you to plug our own recorders into their electric plugs or must we fitt our own batteries into the recorders?
Tanks Karl.

They will not allow any digital recordings to be made, they must be made to tape or directly to CD

Only one member has reported a problem where they were told that as their equipment had not been electrically checked then they could not plug it in.

The Bush recorders from Argos also take batteries and this is important because the assessment centre for our PIP assessment refused to plug them in on the grounds that they did not have any spare sockets. The Bush Recorders take four C type batteries each and i would buy Alkaline. We went through 16 batteries in total of our assessment (even if you don't it's good to have spares). Also, bear in mind that the assessment centre will want to test the recorders first. I found the recorders recorded quite quietly so you may want to use an external mic if possible. Here follows a list of what we used:

2x 5 pack Maxell 90 minute cassette tapes (45 minutes per side) from Wilko £4 each
2x 8 pack Asda C-type batteries £7 each
2 x Bush Tape Recorders £24.99 each from Argos
All original store receipts for the above to prove everything is new

If we hadn't had the batteries we would not have been able to record the assessment.

We went through 6 tapes in total too.

You probably already know that they require 3 days advance notice of your need to record the assessment.

That's it, I think
