Anyone help?- Recording Equipment for PIP F 2 F

Hi there,
Has anyone got, or know where to get two audio cassette recorders please? I need to support my daughter at a PIP F to F Assessment on 13th Dec and want to record it. Can't afford a Neal double CD recorder (£500) so need to get hold of two cassette recorders. There will be many of us wanting to record our assessments, so this will be a problem for more than us. I thought it would be good to try to set up a possible loan system for this equipment to help others out too.

What do people think? Does anyone have any of these cassette recorders, or any other suggestions? I would be happy to make an initial investment, then loan to others if anyone else is interested? Or would be happy to pay to borrow one or two if anyone else has already purchased? Please comment to give me an idea of possible interest as I only have two weeks? Thanks very much

I recorded my PIP assessment back in June. I bought the 2 recorders from Argos but the tapes I bought were only 30 minutes each side. I finished up buying a pack of C90 tapes off ebay - 45 minutes per side. I think they were about 10 pounds for the lot so about 60 quid in total.

Just a word of warning: In spite of the recordings, I scored zero points and the assessment was a complete farce full of contradictions and lies.

Now, I don't know if the fact that I recorded the process had any effect or influence on my Mandatory Reconsideration - which I won getting my old award back.

I suspect it possibly did, because it gave me licence to point things out and then bring them to the attention of the reader with the wording 'as can be clearly heard on the recording' or 'as is evident on listening to the recording'.

I might be wrong, but I am so glad I forked out for them - and I have them for next time.

Sorry, I didn't make the price of the recorders clear, I think they were 24.99 each.

Thanks for the info and your experience Phrank. We've already been messed around by ATOS (IAS) over rescheduling the assessment time, about which I will be making a formal complaint (they didn't send us the ass't. time as clearly requested on the app form so we've had to use our one and only chance to re-arrange to be able to attend, instead of being able to re-schedule if my daughter is ill on the day. Even the DWP staff were shocked and sympathetic at their arrogance and insensitivity). Do feel free to refuse, but I wondered if you might be prepared/ interested in loaning us the use of your cassette recorders? We would pay for all delivery costs and return them to you asap? I wonder if there will be enough supplies of these recorders for everyone who needs to use them. Thanks again, good to hear you won your MR- Well done!
