I was awarded DLA when disabled out of HM Services In 1986, was diagnosed with ptsd bi polar and schizzoaffective auditory and visual hallucinations in 2005, Had indefinate dla enhanced care and enhanced mobility until conversion to PIP in 2016, they then gave me enhanced mobility and Care for 3 years aug 2016 to aug 2019, was reviewed last september and just had letter this week I have enhanced care but they have lowered my mobility, when my conditions have not changed, I am 53 and still have the same symtoms etc. Was medically diabled out ot HM Services in 1986. The lady at the medical assessment was answering her mobile phone all the time, and my mother said it was her child minder ringing her up, as she was listening to the conversation. I get a lot of help from family due to auditory problems which fluctuate and my physical conditions are getting worse with age, my legs where rebuilt with surgical steele in germany whilst in the Army. I am at a loss, but I have contacted a solicitor allready. Any advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

A solicitor is unlikely to be of any help, certainly at the MR stage, if you do use one then make sure that they have experience of Social Security appeals as this is a specialist area, check their references.

Do you know how you qualified for the Enhanced Mobility in 2016?

thanks for your reply, I was awarded DLA Originally years ago when disabled out of HM Services then in 2016 converted to PIP, Mobility Section wasawarded in 2016 moving around 10 pts using aid or appliance more than 20 metres but not more than 50, and Planning and following journey 4pts you need promting from another person to undertake a journey to avois causing you significant mental distress. I got 3 year award from aug 2016 to aug 2019 review was done in sept 2018 and now awarded no points for you need promting from another person to undertake a journey to avoid causing you significant mental distress which was 4pts. Nothing has changed in my condition and nothing will its a life long condition

So the four points are about you needing prompting to be able to go out, is there anything that argues against you needing this? For example; do you go shopping on your own?

Do you have up to date evidence of your problems going out? The DWP seems to think that all mental health problems are temporary :(

I suffer bad auditory/visual hallucinations and they flucuate all time, so I can have several bad episodes a year, its up and down, I cannot go anywhere unfamiliar without some type of support, and thats what 4 points where for, in 2016, award was till aug 2019, and review was last year, nothing has changed and they have all paperwork, been to drs to tell them what happened and dr has given me a letter.

I can only go by what you post but these do are not issues that seem to meet the criteria; there is no mention of a need for prompting, your condition is variable and it is unclear if you are sufficiently affected for the majority of days and lastly, this about your being able to leave your home, not to go somewhere you do not know.
