I was awarded enhanced mobility in 2016 I had it awarded in 1987 after being disabled out of HM Services with New Built legs surgical steel, (which I get considerable pain from) the DLA was indefinate, I was awarded Mobility 2016 for Physical injuries and due to my auditory hallucinations which never go, I got 4 points for promting for unfamiliar journeys nothing has changed here or ever will, my auditorys are permanent, and nothing will change, so if it was ok in 2016 for higher rate it should be so now. Silverina a person on this site has same mental illness has me and gets higher rate mobility with no timer limit, I was disabled out of her majesty services with new built metal legs, which give me chronic pain and i cannot walk far, somedays at all, due to my legs deteriorating. This was 1987, my subsequent breakdown from IBM and diagnosis of ptsd and bi polar and schizzoaffective hallucinations is a daily lifelong illness, everyday I have to put up with it, somedays are wors thasn others, this was what got me higher rate mobility and care in 2016. And nothings changed. So yes I do qualify, my dr said even she was baffled.

I get promted all time, there are weeks and months when I cannot go out due to noises I get which fluctuate in volume, I have them all time I can deal when they are low, audible but manageable, when they rise in volume, thern I struggle, this happens frequently and is getting worse with age, also my legs are bad, osteo arthritis chronic pain, can hardly walk. I cannot do a lot when I am bad. thats why I get promted and help all time, in last ten years from 43 to 53 its become debilatating, when i cannot drive my car family drive me, I get support due to my auditorys even when there manageable, (they increase in volume, manageable volume 1-3 4 onwards becomes disfficult, 7, to 10. I cannot cope. I have been suicidal with this illness.

I'm not doubting you meet the criteria but the arguments you are using are not ones that will help you score the points. You clearly have issues but you need to explain them in terms that the assessor and the DM will recognise so that they can award points.

The Going Out activity does not consider physical issues such as your ability to walk and I suspect that the audio problems you have may also be considered in this way.

OK, so you are trying to meet the following criteria

b. Needs prompting to be able to undertake any journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 4 points.

This is a legal definition.

This is about your ability to leave the house, the things that stop you and the prompting that overcomes these. It is not about anything else, for example; how you are when you go out, your ability to go to somewhere you do not know or whether you can drive or not.

The Going Out activity does not consider any of your physical limitations, so your problems with your walking will not be taken into account nor would I expect your auditory problems to be considered.

So, you first need to explain the conditions that prevent you from going out and attempting to do so must result in your experiencing "overwhelming psychological distress", anxiety or even psychological distress will not be sufficient for you to meet the criteria.

Then you need to explain why "prompting" from another person helps you to overcome these issues.

There are other Descriptors that you might meet but these have different criteria.
