Maxit. I hadn't thought about that. Good advice. Thanks. However, looking at it in a postive light. The fact that I am in a lay-by means that I have the sense to stop until I feel more able to drive. I was trying to get across the '2 hours' bit, but you have picked up on the 'layby'! That was not a very good example I gave. I am not always crying in a lay-by! It can be anywhere. I will be careful not to use that again.

Ellen, Thanks. So would it only apply to people with autism do you think? That feels like discrimnation.

BIS, I personally feel that crying for 'hours' is an indication of being overwhelmed, especially when the effect of the OCD trigger goes on affecting me for days to weeks or more. DWP probably don't make it clearer, because it suits them, so they can reject everyone on this count.
Do you know of 'anyone' who has got Enhanced Mobility on OPD, without it being caused by Autism?

Mosala,
It's fine I just wanted to make you aware of the consequences of mentioning any distress and driving to GP etc.
Not sure they will take the fact that you pulled over as a good thing, they will (I think) be more concerned that you were driving and became so distressed that you felt the need to pull over.....we tried to rationalise everything with them, the DVLA are brutal.
Although the family member would far prefer their license the fact they had it revoked actually helped their claim a lot and in our area meant they were automatically entitled to a free 5 year bus pass.

Hi Mosala
Yes, I know several people who have been awarded enhanced mobility due to OPD without it being caused by Autism.

Maxit. Would the DWP tell the DVLA then? I am now wondering whether I should still pursue to tribunal in my attempt to gain back DL Enhanced and to get Enhanced Mobility. My claim will be scrutinized and if I lose my license I am finished as I cannot use public transport!
I have to decide 'today'!
