If your claim was made at the end of last year then it must be New Style ESA as it has not been possible to make a new claim for legacy ESA for some time.
The Premiums are not payable with New Style ESA, whether your PIP Claim is successful or not.
If you receive a PIP Daily Living award and you live alone and no one claims Carers Allowance against the PIP and you receive Housing Benefit. then you should be able to make a claim for legacy Income Related ESA, this could pay more than you would receive under UC but there are a lot of "ifs" and it could be some time before you know whether you can make a claim.
Remember, ultimately all Income Related ESA claims will be transferred to UC.

Hi Gordon
If I am not receiving Housing Benefit I would not be able to get Income Related ESA?

Hi Gordon
Please advise.
To get a Severe Disability Premium you have to be getting an income-related benefit. I am getting ESA(C) support group, UC to top up as on low income, and PIP daily living. is UC a means-tested benefit? In this case, can I apply for Severe Disability Premium?
Thank you
Please advise.

I'm afraid not, although Universal Credit is classed as an Income Related benefit there are no Premiums payable with UC.
