ESA Review Due was created by CHUNKY
Hi
I rang to find out my ESA Conts medical is due in September 2020.
Do you know whether medicals are being suspended and when the form will be sent?
What are the chances of them ringing up and doing the review on the phone?
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi synapse321
I'm sorry, we don't have any further information. No one knows how much of a backlog they are dealing with and whether forms are being sent out in a timely fashion. Face to face assessments are still suspended www.gov.uk/government/news/face-to-face-...-disability-benefits and therefore it would be a telephone assessment or a paperbased one.

Do you know how much notice they give you for a telephone call. I am assuming initially the health assessor calls or do the decision makers call too?
Thanks

You should be given seven days written notice of the call but this does include postage time.
The DWP are not involved in the assessment, everything is done by the Assessment Provider.

How much earlier is the ESA medical questionnaire sent out. eg if my end date is September when will the forms be posted?
Am I correct in saying that don't legally have send out forms? What would you do in that case?
Thanks

Probably no more than six weeks before the reassessment date, more usually around it but understand, this is not an End Date, it is an administrative date that can be moved as the DWP see fit.
You are correct that there is no legal requirement to issue an ESA50 but it is very rare for this to happen. If it does then you can provide your own ESA50 or a letter explaining your difficulties in completing the ESA activities.
