Perhaps it’s been asked before but I can’t find it.

Prior to all interviews for PIP been F2F you could record the interview under certain conditions, eg providing the interviewer with a copy etc

However, now that interviews are telephone based, what’s the rule regarding recording. You can’t hand a recording immediately after the interview.

Does PIP record these interviews as a matter of course and if they do I assume they would have to supply you with a copy under the FOI Act

Thanks for your input

The Assessment Providers for PIP do not offer any recording facilities for PIP it is down to the claimant to provide the equipment and to seek permission.

You can legally record a telephone conversation without having to inform the other party provided that it is being made for personal use only, in fact, if you tell the assessor they will almost certainly refuse permission and may terminate the telephone interview if they believe that you are doing so.
