PIP Renewal was created by Hughie
Hi
I am hoping I can get some advice on a renewal issue. I am on PIP and my current award is due to be reviewed in time for the end of the current award which is March 2021. I know I am possibly jumping the gun, as we are 6 months away, but I want to hopefully be as prepared as I possibly can. My problem is this; Do I wait for them to get in touch with me prior to the renewal, or do I contact them as Covid is obviously creating a backlog? I know from experience that they are on the ball with renewals normally, and I had my last one sent to me about 7 months before the award of that time was due for review. I will also be 64 by the time the review date and I do not know whether they will just perhaps give me a light touch review as my conditions are not going to improve at my age. I just worry that if I do not get in touch with them, they will just stop the award without letting me know beforehand. They did say on the last award decision that they would contact me, but that was back in 2017 long before the nightmare we are now enduring. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanking You.

Hi HughJulie

You are likely to receive your renewal papers soon. I wouldn't worry until it's about three months before and then contact them if you have heard anything. You won't get a light touch review because you will not have reached pension age.
