2nd extension of PIP letter today was created by nicmcc
Don't know if this helps or is of interest to anyone. I have received a 2nd extension for my PIP.
My award was due to end 8th October 2020.
In June I received my extension letter to extend my award to April 2021.
In August I received my AR1 (dated 8th August) filled with the guides, DWP received it on the 8th of September, I did not receive an acknowledgement text until the 20th of October.
So now over 7 weeks since the DWP received it.
Today I received a letter (dated: 25 October) extending the award until 8 July 21.
It says:
We have extended your PIP award
We suspended Personal independence Payment Award reviews because of the Coronavirus (Covid -19) outbreak.
We have now begun reviewing PIP awards again and we may look at some awards later than originally planned. To make sure that you still receive your payments we have have extended your award until 8 July 2021.
What this means for you
We will continue to pay your PIP payments as normal.
Your PIP award has been extended until 8 July 2021.
What to do now.
You do not need to contact us.
If you have not received an 'Award review - How your disability affects you form, we will contact you again, before the new end date of your award, to review your award.
If we have already sent you an 'Award review- 'How your disability affects you' form but you have not yet returned it, you have one month to return it, from the date we sent the form to you. Please send it to us sooner if you can so we can process your claim.
If you have already returned your 'Award review - How your disability affects you' form, you may be invited to an assessment appointment. It is important you take part so we can make a decision on your claim.
Just thought i'd share in case it helps someone.

Hi Debbie
I have answered your question in your thread. You have to send your form back. The extensions are simply an administrative way of them handling the backlog.
