Personally [I'm not a mod] I would be rushing to my GP to plead for a letter explaining that a phone or face to face assessment would cause me " overwhelming psychological distress " . [If you can afford to pay the GP this may help, it covers their admin costs]. These three words, which assessors write as OPD, are almost a requirement and still don't guarantee you will get it. I did the phoning for our daughter, maybe it would help convince them you can't reasonably do phone calls if you can get someone else to call for you as I did, to ask to cancel any phone assessment . Also if you can diarise what 'being a mess' means, eg anxiety, extra meds, behaviours like hair-pulling etc, you can use this as evidence of anxiety, might help convince your doctor if necessary and possibly use for assessment. If you can get a paper based assessment, and then they lie, as long as you get the report asap after hearing it has been done, you can do a challenge letter again, without the element of 'he said/she said' because you can refer to all the evidence ie documents. You have to do it quickly to get to the decision maker before they do your case, and add in that 'this is not an MR request but you may still do one if necessary.' This worked well for us in destroying the assessor's many lies, I wish you the very best however you decide to proceed. Denby
