PIP was created by Kim clifton
Hi, my daughter had her telephone assessment during lockdown. She then received her brown envelope, she scored 0 points. Before this she had PIP for daily living at the standard rate. I put in a mandatory reconsideration for her as she has bi-polar and anxiety, also spina bifida i enclosed her GPS letter. She received the decision on the16th October again 0 points. She took their decision to the GP, to say he wasn't happy is an understatement, he immediately wrote another letter and told her to send it straight away. My question is, should we send this new letter or just start the process of tribunal. Thank you.

Hi Kim

You can certainly send in the GP's letter, but you need to start the process for the Appeal. You need to do this within one year of the decision letter. Unfortunately, appeals are taking about a year to come through. The link is below. Scroll down the page to find the appropriate document

Thank you for this. Is there anything that I need to send with this application and can it all be sent via email.

Hi Kim

If you have a look at the guide which is the link in my previous post you will find the process. There is a specific form you can download, or you can do the whole process online. It's all explained in the booklet from page 9

Hi BIS, I have started the PIP appeal online, because my daughter didn't get any points do I have to answer every single question again. I say me as I am completing the form on her behalf as she wouldn't know how to fill in the form. Can I say 'my daughter' so they know that I am doing this form or does it have to be her doing this. There is nowhere for me to say that I will be filling in the form.

I assume you are not your daughter's appointee?

You can tell the panel about your daughter's problems, referring to "my daughter" but your daughter needs to confirm the content by signing the form.

Be careful not to suggest that you are your daughter's Representative (capital "R") you can represent her (small "r") as you need to but there will be an assumption that you have had appropriate benefit training if you act as her Representative which could easily disadvantage your daughter.
