Hi traceytracey, only just seen your reply. Thanks for pointing out how the tone could have discouraged some people, it certainly wasn't intended and I apologise for that possible harm. My main aim is to encourage people to keep on fighting for their dues if they can manage to, as they have such a high chance of winning in the end, just as my friend did.
I will say that, as like my OH our friend is on the autistic spectrum, he tends to find that he has particular trouble getting 'authorities' to believe him because of his different communication style. That could be the reason it took him so long. The great thing is that he has succeeded in getting the deserved level of PIP for several other people [who could not do their own paperwork because they are too unwell] by using what he learned on his own case. So all readers please be encouraged not discouraged it really IS worth the trouble if you can manage to try.
Thanks again traceytracey,
Denby

Hi Denby,
I fully understand and absolutely encourage fighting for what we are entitled to. I had my own fight initially going to tribunal so do understand.
You are more than welcome, it is easy to get over zealous sometimes
especially when we are having a rant:)
Well done to you friend getting his award
kind regards
Traceytracey

Hi denby,
This seems like a good place to tell you how much I enjoy reading your posts on the forum. I rarely post myself but catch up with the threads most days and really appreciate your encouraging words and guidance.
Best wishes,
pollenpath

Hi Gordon
It’s a new claim for Pip.
I’m on esa assessment rate and have been since January.
I’m just bewildered by it all

You're most kind pollenpath. If I had more time I'd consider training for a mod if I qualified, but there it is, at the moment I don't. [poorly OH and daughter etc]. But I do see it as useful to be encouraging when I can, as an extra to the wonderful work of the Mods on answering questions. And another smile, our friend has just won at MR for a 'client' [he does this on a purely voluntary basis for people who need help]. First time he hasn't had to take it to appeal.
Kind Regards. Denby

Hi OscarPoppy
Gordon has stepped down from moderating, his last day was last week.
As you have already sent in your PIP form, the next stage is the assessment stage, remember, PIP is not awarded because of the condition but rather the limitations that result and prevent a claimant from completing a range of everyday activities. Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for a better understanding of the criteria you will need to meet, also check out page 81 which discusses the assessment.

If you have any further questions, then post them on the forum and we will try and answer them.
