Hi all,

I am currently in receipt of CB ESA support group. I do permitted work of 15 hours pw. Unfortunately due to Covid and my employer not taking it seriously about keeping me safe (I'm in the high vulnerable group) I am having to give this job up. (They sat me in an office 1ft away from somebody to train, no masks or adhering to government guidelines. (This is a doctors surgery!).
This has increased my anxiety and I have raised a grievance, because of this they have said I can follow through with the grievance or take a settlement agreement. I know I probably have a case as they have failed on various HSE guidelines, however my question is. If I take the settlement agreement will it affect my ESA i.e trigger a new claim?

No, it should not affect your ESA, ESA(CB) is not affected by your savings and assets.

Hi traceytracey

I would always inform DWP of any changes in circumstances by phone, make sure you write down the name of the person you speak to, plus date and time, then follow up with putting it in writing and confirm what has been discussed. Always make sure you get proof of posting when ever you write to the DWP as letters do go missing and keep a copy of your letter
