A BIG THANK YOU TO GORDON - MOD EXTRAORDINAIRE was created by BIS
Whether you have been a member of Benefits & Work for a few months or a few years - you will undoubtedly have had a reply from Gordon. Nearly 50,000 replies - That is stunning and why I describe him as a mod extraordinaire. Okay it sounds fancy, but he is extraordinary and he's leaving huge shoes to fill.
I know Gordon just like so many of you. I asked for advice and he gave it to me when I was in desperate need. I've never met him, I've never spoken to him, I don't know what he looks like and I know nothing personal about him. What I do know is that he has helped countless people who would not have got through the grim benefits process without his help and advice. There are many times when he has literally been a lifesaver. And it is because of his help that I received that I decided to become a mod.
So the next session is going to be Gordon's last and I know we'll all miss him.
Gordon - thank you for the help you gave me when I first came to B&W and since I became a mod - so tactfully correcting mistakes I've made. Your shoes will never be filled because you are one of a kind - but I wish you all the luck working in the background. You deserve a rest and I salute you.
Best wishes

Thank you so much for this.
I can't say I am looking forward to my last session, B&W has been such a large part of my life and it will be quite a wrench not to login every day to answer posts but the forum has been impacting on my life more and more over the years and I've reached a point where I have had to accept that I can't continue.
I'm glad I have been able to help so many people over the years although I think my contribution is less than stated, I may have steered people in the right direction but ultimately it is they who have completed the forms and done the MRs and appeals and deserve the praise for their success.
It's a relief to know that I am leaving the forum is such good hands with you and Gary it made my decision a lot easier.
Thank you
Gordon
