Pip extension due to end. was created by Lpot50
Hi
I had my pip claim extended to March 2021 and received an assessment date in mid November.
I called Pip to request the assessment be recorded. They cancelled the assessment and I have received a new date next week. As it will only be around three weeks after that until the extension date ends, what will happen if a decision is not made by then?

Hi Lisa
I would get onto the DWP now and explain your assessment is booked and ask whether they are intending to extend your award end date - otherwise you may find that your money just stops.

Thank you for your reply.
I have just been on the phone to Pip and after explaining the situation, I was advised to phone them back a week after the assessment has taken place, to ask for the decision to be fast tracked as my claim will be due to end.

Hi Lisa, may I also suggest that just two days after the assessment does take place, you call to ask for the assessment report. In the event that it contains errors, you can then ASAP write in to put those right with specific refence to the document for each error, before the Decision Maker goes and awards you less based on err, fibs or omissions.
Hope this helps, Denby

Hi Lisa
Don't leave it a week. Ring after 48 hrs. Your report should be up on the system by then. We're hearing a lot of members report that their reports aren't up as quickly as usual. I hope that doesn't happen to you, but if it does - you will need to phone every day. The assessors are supposed to load them up within 48 hrs. You may need every day you can to get it fast tracked.
