Oh Celiar, you are so right, we do need a champion who is not bogged down in the toxic mix of health problems/disability and fighting for the cash to survive. My experienced volunteer advocate friend is 100% convinced that they do often show vindictiveness towards anyone who has gone all the way to 'beat' them, as you have. Nil carborundum illegitimum says I to one and all [look it up, so I don't swear on here...] . Fibro is a so and so to prove to 'them' as you may well have 'but you don't LOOK sick' syndrome, like our daughter who also has fibro. Best energy to you to win again, Denby

Hi denby

Illegitimi non carborundum is a mock-Latin aphorism used by a number politicians on occasions.

It can at times seem that you are fighting against the world but you are among friends here and you can let off a bit of steam without being offensive.

There are some very good champions who do pick up noble causes such as Leigh Day solicitor a recent conclusion is that of Philippa Day to took an overdose that led to her death. A coroner delivered a damning indictment of systemic problems at the Department of Work and Pensions that contributed to the decision of Philippa Day to take an overdose that led to her death.

His finding of 28 failings by DWP and Capita, some of which were errors made repeatedly and which the Coroner did not feel could be considered just errors by individuals, together with his clear conclusion, leave no doubt that the DWP and Capita through its flawed handling of Pip’s disability benefits claim materially contributed to the death of a much loved mum, sister and daughter.

Leigh Day partner Merry Varney, represented the family.

Will the above case make a difference ....... only time will tell.

Gary

Hi Celiar, because you won your award via the Tribunal, your PIP will have an end date. This is why you have to reapply again .... not sure why they do this as it assumes you will be fit and well at the end of the tribunal award! I daresay if you are successful with this claim then the light touch reviews will take place after that. Good luck

To all,

Why are they being made accountable for their failings etc ??????

Simply put they're a law unto themselves. Until politicians experience suffering from severe painful diseases etc things wont change.

The only people who are making changes are Scotland, and i believe NI!

I honestly don't know how some people well many can sleep at nights, they have no shame, no guilty conscience at all.

Good luck to all, as we're going to need it.

I'm following Gary because I won at Tribunal last week with 'indefinite' awards for both standard daily living and enhanced mobility. Should I, therefore, take the word 'indefinite' with a pinch of salt?

Thank you Celiar. All very worrying. Just when I thought i could relax. I turned 73 last year. Although every piece of limited research that I do about PIP and pensioners says "Those people already aged 65 or over (on 8 April 2013) will not be reassessed for PIP, and will remain on DLA as long as they continue to satisfy the eligibility criteria"
Huh! Whatever that means? Do not trust this goverment one little bit. They will want every penny they can lay their hands on to make up for all the billions they have paid out on the pandemic.
So even more cuts and closures, and claw backs to come.
Am thinking of you and wish you well. Keep fighting!
