Pip renewal was created by Julia
Telephone assessment September 2020. After 7 week wait I was appalled to be notified by my local council that my PIP award had been cancelled. Rang DWP who were quite dismissive saying 'Oh! That shouldn't have happened'. No apology but confirmation I had lost Pip. Verbal request for MR plus written request after reading your guides. After reading the so called Health Professional's interpretation of my conditions I could see why my points had been halved both for Daily Living and Mobility. So along with a good friend I set about writing my appeal answering all the DWP findings in minute detail. It took 3 weeks and three pages of A4 paper which my friend duly typed and printed due to my Depression, Anxiety, Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis going through the roof with the stress....PIP reinstated a month later after MR. In fact I was awarded Enhanced rate for Daily Living and Standard for Mobility plus back pay for both PIP and ESA. While I am elated to have won on MR, some of the DWP points awarded are for different descriptors. I dare not say anything for fear of losing any award again which runs (hopefully) to September 2023. I should receive a State Pension in May 2023 so less ESA stress to go through. Don't EVER give up. With the helpful guides and info from B&W behind you there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Many many thanks to all on this site and keep up the good work.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Julia
Delighted to hear of your success in challenging your Mandatory Reconsideration. Only about 17% of cases are won at the MR stage - so it's great to hear that all your diligence paid off. Don't worry about the points that may not be quite correct. It happens far too often - but the good thing is that you have your award.
