Thank you for your help, a lot to think about. I have spoken to people at U/C and new style E S A and have been told that I can apply for both even if I take VOLUNTARY REDUNDACY, it is not a lot of money but hopefully something to tie me over till benefits come in, I will also get my PIP reassessed due to my health getting worse and an increase in medication. thank you for your help no doubt I will be checking in for help with the mountain of forms to fill in.
Thank you

Hi sam

It would depend on a number of factors and your personal circumstances, you may want to contact a local welfare rights worker to help you with better off calculations, if you do not know where to find your local Welfare Rights Worker to help with benefit entitlements, click on the link below.

advicelocal.uk

You can check by putting your information into one of the online benefit calculators.

Even if you can apply for UC you might also want to have a look at whether you can claim New Style ESA, you will need to wait for your SSP to end, you can make a claim in advance of this and you will need to have at least 50 weeks of NI Contributions in the two Tax Years 2017-18 and 2018-19.

In both cases you will need a Fit Note from your GP.

Our ESA/UC Claim guide explains the criteria you will need to meet for an award.
