This seems now the DWP are giving claimants up to 3 months now to fill in their forms now, but always check with the DWP.
Rightsnet have stated they'd had claimants receive these 3 month extensions.
One case from them. "I don’t know what is going on with this but I have had 2 clients ring for PIP2 extensions this week. One was given 70 days (and told this was applying to everyone automatically) and the other 87 days.
See link for this information. www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/17082/
I hope the mods will allow this thread.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi ThisGovernmentsGoneToFar
I see no reason why not to allow this thread, we have received a few posts on this forum in regards to the 3 months over the last few weeks but to date I have not seen anything official from DWP.
As you rightly say always check with DWP first.
Gary

Cheers Gary, I agree it's always worth checking with the DWP as their so unreliable.
I'm not sure if it was your good self mentioned a few days ago regarding this exact scenario..

Hi. I just wanted to add that I rang PIP earlier today requesting an extension on the return of my PIP2 form for a new claim and the advisor said that everyone has automatically been given a 3 month extension from the date of their letter. She said the computer will still send out a reminder for the original return date because that can’t be overridden but I’m to ignore it. I asked her to confirm that my claim wouldn’t be closed and she said No as long as it’s returned by 3 months.

Karen, it's good to hear that the DWP are applying them to 3 months to return their, your PIP forms.
Thanks for adding to this topic letting other members know. Remember everyone make sure you confirm this with the DWP and this is being applied to you, everyone.
