Hi Pops

It is due to a backlog because of Covid, not everyone has been given a 3 month period to return the form, the information from the forum is that it varies, but we are hearing of more claimants with 3 month to return the form.

Hi Gary

Thanks for the information. It would seem more relevant to allow everyone 3 months as gathering evidence is the part that takes time and surely it would reduce the amount of claimants fighting their corners with reconsiderations and tribunals etc.

What did surprise me with the date is that on all the previous communication I had with DWP, is that 4 weeks was always the closing statement.

I forgot to add also that I am moving from DLA to PIP voluntarily so not sure wether that has something to do with the extension?

Hi Pops

The extension is not particularly because you're moving over. It should have been offered to everyone, but the application is not consistent.

Thanks for all the replies.

Not a good start I saw sent on the 15th and to be back by the 15th and assumed 4 weeks, completely missed the July bit so it's actually nearly 12 weeks.

Thanks again
Chris
