Esa reassesment/domestic violence was created by Agis
Hello there I have my ESA review in August for mental health. I am in a support group for my mental health. I have been homeless last year and was placed in a social housing that has had a terrible effect on me. Unfortunatelly I suffer continous abuse from my neighbours because of my disability and I am affraid to live in here. If not for ESA reasesment in August I would have moved out of here already. I don't know what to do as I am being tortured in a place where I live. Can I call DWP and ask for earlier reasessment day? Should i move out now for the sake of my mental health and risk loosing housing benefit in my new place when ESA stopps? Unfortunatelly I lost all the support from Supported Housing I used to have so I dont know wgat to do. I know I cant live in here. I would appreciate any advice.

Hi Agis
Sorry to hear about your situation. Have you reported the situation to your landlord? They should issue with a diary to record the anti social behaviour, you may also want to report it to the Police and to your local MP who may be able to help get you a move to another area.
If you move within the same local authority area then you will be able to keep Housing Benefit, if you move to another local authority area then you will loose your housing benefit and you will have to apply for housing element via Universal Credit.
ESA is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment based on the Prognosis Date completed by the assessor in their report, so your existing ESA award continues in payment until a new Decision is made.
We cannot give you advice about moving out as it is outside the remit of this forum, you can contact Shelter who can give you help and advice: england.shelter.org.uk/get_help
Their helpline is open every single day of the year:
8am - 8pm on weekdays
9am - 5pm on weekends
Helpline: 0808 800 4444
