Rather strange behaviour re PIP was created by peter N
Had a telephone assessment at 11am today with Capita. 12.30pm postman arrives with a letter from PIP. Letter stating someone has looked at my claim & i've been awarded PIP, The same rates as i'm getting now, from 10 October 2021 to 23 June 2025. Anybody else had the same ?. Confused now has if they go with todays assessment my PIP might change.

Hi Peter
That is most strange. I would ring the DWP and query what has happened.

How strange, does their left hand even know what their right hand is even doing?
Would you please tell us what happens?

Phoned PIP & asked to speak to a case manager. The lady on the phone said she'd never heard of this situation before, said she would speak to her manager & phone me back. Got a call back yesterday saying my award would stand, said it couldn't go down after the assessment, but could go up. I shall keep you updated.

Hi pn
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I have to agree with both BIS and Judy, it is most strange, not heard of it happening before myself but at least you got good news and maybe better news to come.
You should contact DWP and ask for a copy of the assessors report (PA4), but really terrific news, well done and congratulations.
