Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi phrank
The green paper considers the options for addressing some of the short- to medium-term issues in health and disability benefits. It will also start a discussion about the opportunities for wider change to deliver on the objectives of the health and disability benefit system. www.gov.uk/government/consultations/shap...sability-green-paper

Phrank, I think this is what your referring too. They brought one out in 2017 for people on ESA to be exempt from further assessments, I only ever read and heard of a handful of claimants only got it. I wouldn't hold your breath over this one either.
Testing a Severe Disability Group
The DWP have decided not to introduce a minimum award duration for PIP. Instead, the number of repeat assessments may be cut by the introduction of a ‘Severe Disability Group’ (SDG).
The DWP say: “People who do not come within the special rules for terminal illness may still have severe and lifelong conditions that will not improve. These people are unlikely ever to work again and will always need extra financial support to live independently.”
The intention is to place people in this position into the SDG so that they “can benefit from a simplified process without ever needing to complete a detailed application form or go through an assessment.”
The DWP say they are “working with a group of health and social care professionals to help us develop the criteria for the SDG and identify the evidence that would be required to meet them. We will consult with charities and disabled people’s organisations on the criteria.”

Hi Gary,
Thanks so much for that,
I just wondered what it was about and if I'd actually read it correctly.
Regards,
Phrank.

Hi TGGTF,
Thanks for that. Yes I think I read that a while ago. The thing is you don't know what to believe as it seems something new appears on internet almost daily.
Time will tell,
Regards,
Phrank.

Phrank your welcome, I thought this was what you wanted to no.
Believe me when I say this I've read so much policy guidance surrounding all things PIP, ESA, UC and DWP, in some aspects they make it look good in their guidance thinking we will believe their lying rubbish, don't ever be fooled by them because they simply don't care for disabled or claimants as a whole.
I've got used to their lying ways and thankfully have very good Health professionals on my side and they always will give me all the evidence I need for their dodgy assessments etc. i count myself very lucky indeed reading how claimants are, and have been treated it makes me sick.
I fit the old ESA and this supposedly SDG but I'll tell you now I will have to be near close to death to gain acceptance to that.
Watching your dilemma with great interest. Wishing you well.

Hi there TGGTF,
Thank you for your good wishes and your interesting post.
Unlike me, you are more on the ball with PIP ESA etc. I always find your posts informative, interesting and respect your views.
As for me I am still, in part, in the learning process as I have been 'hoodwinked' more than once by 'dodgy' assessors. I have suffered as a consequence and had to go down a long, hard, route to prove myself with cases in the past.
Having said that, I have always got there in the end but only after suffering badly through my lack of knowledge or ignorance over the way these so called assessors work the system for self gain.
I have very supportive health care professionals who have added enough weight to carry me over the line when I have appealed in the past.
I feel I have now got more of a grasp on the way to go about things and in what order but I've learned ( and am still learning) the hard way.
I know I will get there with my latest battle; but I am prepared for another long fight if need be, although I doubt it will come to that given the strength of my argument and supporting evidence.
I hope to have some news in the not too distant future!
Kind regards,
Phrank.
