Hi ves
Thank you very much for your post, it will help fellow members who are going through the same dilemma as yourself, by the sounds of it your Welfare Rights Organisation was very helpful as well as your workcoach.

Hi Susie
Thank you for your post, it will help fellow members and us mods.
There is nothing better that a member writing about their experience in claiming by giving details of the pitfalls they have had to overcome along the journey.
We have recently had a few enquiries about fit notes over the past few weeks, so it is always good to hear from members about their experience with fit notes and work coaches.

Hello Susie,
Thank you so much for your post, it really gives me an insight on what to expect.
(Due to the delay in these posts going onto the thread) I did have a Work Coach telephone call. As you said, I didn't want to risk my claim lapsing.
I will keep the thread updated with my progress - so as to let others know what happens during this transfer to UC.
Thank you for your kind wishes.
Take care

Hi Susie - forgot to ask... in your post you say:
"My partner was frightened but he kept updating his UC account, and I uploaded all of his ESA bumph as evidence, as well as consultant letters, prescription lists etc."
I've looking in the UC platform, and can't find any way of uploading health documents etc.
Is uploading going to become available to me when the Claim Manager starts messaging me in the Journal, do you know?
Thanks

Hi Ves,
We had to ask permission (via his UC journal) from the UC staff so that we could upload documentation.
They did this by messaging him via his journal, telling us how to do this.
We couldn't do it without them making it possible first as there was no obvious portal - and we were kind of fumbling around a bit! This was especially important for his ESA entitlement letter.
You may not need to do so but he did as there was a delay in obtaining his fitnote. He had to start a UC claim to secure payment of his housing element - he had to move quickly with his new tenancy. Therefore, he started the claim a week or 2 before we had his fitnote.
Hope that makes sense!
