Pip review success was created by S123
Hello, just wanted to say a huge thank you, after following your guidelines I had a review sent in July, posted it back end of July and had a letter through the post, although I have got few more issues and change of circumstances, they still only awarded me standard rate for both. I am still happy although my mobility has worsened, but they have me an10 yr date for renewal. I am on Esa contribution in the support group and Esa income related as well. My only question was if they swap me over to Universal Credit will I still get the same amount and will my pip entitlement still be available, as in I’d pip on top of universal credit ? as this is the only income I have and with rent and bills it’s hard to make ends meet. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Sidhu123

That is really terrific news, well done and congratulations. I am tagging my reply so that the back office also get to read your encouraging post.

I cannot say if you will get the same amount of benefit as it depends on a number of factors, you can put your information in an online benefit checker to do a better off calculation.

Sorry, what I meant was if I am changed over to universal credit, would that include pip or would I get pip on top of universal credit?
Thanks

Hi Sidhu123

PIP has nothing to do with UC, so if you 'changed over' to UC your PIP will stay the same.

You will therefore receive UC which is paid monthly and PIP which is paid 4 weekly.

Dear Sidhu123, so pleased they have given you a long award. But if your conditions are worse and you are hardly able to pay your rent and bills, why not appeal for what you really deserve? All the info is in the guides on here but check your dates, as ideally you should get the first stage in, which is a request for a Mandatory Reconsideration [MR for short] in within a month of the decision date on the letter.
In my opinion they play mind games, gambling that you will react just as you have, so relieved about the ten years you settle for less cash than you deserve. Maybe try to get some support with this? We are all here for you.
