Given detailed information about my Award, which turned out to be someone else's 'Award'

After having completed my hour long video assessment. I called the DWP to request the report about four days later.

After holding for one hour and fifteen minutes and going through the standard security questions I was informed by the person on the phone that there was no Assessors report and my award had been successful.

The call handler then went into great detail about a payment that had been made to my bank account the previous day and others to follow, with advice that I should check my nominated account. I was surprised but naturally happy. Then at the very end of the call the call handler called my by a different name. I thought I heard something else but just before I could process what I thought I heard and to ask why the different name the call ended.

Two days later and with no payments made to my account I called again and held for almost an hour, only to be told that was an error, there were no notes to reflect this on my record. Not pleased I asked to make a formal complaint with the call handler, she was not so sure at first but filled out a form and included the details of my complaint and said I would here by phone in around two weeks.

I also requested the Assessors report which came around ten days later.

As you recommend in your PIP guide I kept a record of all the details in every call, so have all the financial information of the other persons Award and payments as well as the time of the call.

What other action does anyone here on the forum recommend I take?

Should I raise this with the Information Commissioners regarding the a data breach. Should I request a copy of the call too?

Thx all.

From your post, no personal date seems to have been revealed and even if it was, you are not the injured party.

You can certainly report it to the Information Commissioner but I would be surprised if any action will be taken.

Make a Subject Access Request to DWP, it's free.

You can request any and all of your data, if you wish, but there could be 100's of pages. However you could ask for e.g. PiP data from 01/01/2023, or any other timescale you wish.
Also there is no reason why you cannot make another claim for further data. You do not need a reason to ask for your data, it's yours - not theirs. This will also discover any information which you feel has not been recorded correctly and in that case you can ask for it to be corrected - this happened to me.
