PIP renewal award PROBLEMS was created by JacknJill
I returned my review form November 2021 I received texts We still have your PIP form and will be progressing as soon as we can only contact if circumstances change. I received the same text at intervals until I received a text to say my review had been passed to a health professional who will contact me to arrange a consultation.

I received a text from Independent Assessment Services on 17 January 2023 saying they will look at the available evidence and contact me if they need a consultation with me

I had a text.from IAS on 23 February 2023 at 11 o clock to confirm a video consultation l on 2 March 2023. On the morning of 2 March IAS rang to change the appointment to a telephone consultation because there was a problem video calling.

On 14 June 2023 still no decision so I rang PIP. After waiting 45 mins on the phone I spoke to someone who told me a letter should have been sent to me but the system was down she said she would get a letter out to me straight away. I was told that I had been awarded the living but not the mobility it has been awarded for 10 years, the person I spoke to told me I could ask for them to look again at the decision and she would put that request through. On 16June I had a text from PIP confirming I had asked for them to look at my award again and I should hear within 8 weeks.

I rang PIP today 28 June 2023 because I had not received the award letter that should have been sent to me. The person I spoke to told me she would get a copy letter sent out to me today. I told her that I had asked for a review of the decision and she said I could not do that until I had received an award letter.and didn't know how it had been requested before I had the letter she said I would not been awarded mobility, which I have received from the first time I received DLA/PIP, because I had reached the age of 65 and mobility was not awarded after I that age..

I received both living and mobility enhanced before this review and thought that mobility was still paid after 65 as long as a person had been awarded PIP before they reached that age.

Sorry this goes on but can anyone confirm the age ruling.

Hi JacknJill

You are right in thinking that the mobility award should have continued if you were already receiving it. I would query this once you receive the award letter. You need to know why it has been removed. Is it because they think your mobility has improved (which sounds unlikely) or because someone mistakenly has not realised it should have just continued?
