Still waiting for PIP review decision letter was created by Ally111
Hello
I received a text message on 22/06/23 to say I should receive my review decision letter within two weeks. To date I have not received the letter.
I have telephoned the PIP helpline three times and keep getting told that I should receive the letter in a couple of days and they will send me another copy.
The reason I need my letter is that I know the decision and I need to put in an mandatory reconsideration request. You only have one month from the date of the letter. My letter will be dated 22/06/23.
What should I do, wait for the decision letter or send in an MR now?
Many thanks
Ally

Strictly speaking, a Decision Letter is not required to request an MR as the only information specifically required from it is the award/no award and the date of the Decision.
That said it would be worth waiting for the letter as it will also contain the Decision Maker's reasoning for the Decision.
Have you requested a copy of the Assessor's report; A PA4 if you had an assessment and a PA3 for a Paper one?

Hi, just thought I'd let you know that my decision letter was sent two weeks after it was written. So when it arrived I only had 14 days left to write in for a mandatory reconsideration. The DWP didn't care, however. If I were you I would type a basic mandatory reconsideration so you have it ready to go, in case you end up in the same boat as me with only two weeks to write it all. Also if you have the HP report, you have information to start from. I didn't get my HP until 3 weeks after I sent in my appeal documents, despite asking at least 3 times. In my experience, I wouldn't trust the DWP to send the decision letter to you on time.

I can't believe the DWP are getting away with this behaviour. I am considering writing to my MP and putting in a complaint too.
