PIP guide - 'problems to be ready for' p112 questions

Hi

What do i need to to to protect against the possiblity neither a letter or an assessment call comes and i have no idea i have been flagged as missing an assement without good reason ?

I've submitted my PIP AR1 form and got a text indicating it was recieved but now i'm sitting arpund for up to 8-12-16 weeks not knowing if they will screw up the assessment without me knowing. I sent it with 65 pages of supporting evidence hoping for a paper assessment.

The problem is i am currently in an epsidoe of psyhoctic paranoia and the waiting around is driving me mad - is there anything i can do ?

Your options are limited, although I think the situation is approving we still have members reporting periods up to 15 months before they are being assessed.

All I can suggest, apart from keeping your details up to date, is that you contact the DWP regularly to check on the status of your claim but your file will likely sit in a pile with a load of others for some time so the best you might get is that nothing has happened.

Hi thanks
when you say - 'keep them up to date' - do you mean keep submitting them up to date evidences ? I already have a pile and was wondering about if to send them in. If i do how do i do that - do i send with a letter saying for the decision maker and is it to the same address on the form ?

Gordon said that you should keep "your details up-to-date" which you are already doing by keeping a file of additional information. He said you could contact the DWP regularly to check the status of your call.

Don't send them additional information unless you are putting in for a 'change of circumstances - in which case they will probably send you a new review form, and you could find the process starting again. Only do this if you have had any new conditions for three months before you inform them, and it is going to continue for at least the following nine months - and you think you would score more highly than you already have.

Unless you decide to take the step above, you've already sent in a substantial amount of information, and any additional information won't be looked at if they already have your review form.
