Mobility component was created by Souter
I am sorry to ask this question but I need advice on the following, I have been awarded the care component of PIP (enhanced) awarded it until 3031. I am struggling with arthritis in lower back and both knees. I retire on 9 November. My first question is: can they take my care component off me and do I need to submit the mobility form before 9 November, or is it from the date I request the form,
I was under the assumption they could not touch the care component as they have awarded it until 3031.
Could anyone provide the number i phone as I live in Scotland..
I really appreciate the help and advice you offer.

Hi Souter,
Wow - you're going to live to a long age - So, if you're in Scotland, then that would be the ADP I believe?
www.mygov.scot/adult-disability-payment
That website has lots of helpful information on, and the number I've located is:- 0800 182 2222 (8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Hope this helps,
Regards, Chris.

Hi Souter
To answer your question, yes you do need to apply for a change of circumstances before you reach state pension to get the mobility element if you qualify.
Yes, they can take the care component off you, so seek advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation
