I contacted PIP to tell them my condition has got much worse and they sent out a form, it said only put down on the form what has changed since the last assessment. Now Capita have set up another phone assesment. I'm now suffering from extreme PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. I had 17 fractures in March 2023 and two extreme head injuries and my arm is now in constant pain and set out of shape. My left leg has a limp and I need a crutch to get around . My memory for reading and spelling simple words has gone. I'm using speech to text . Why was Capita asked to do another's assesment.
I'm sorry to hear that your health has deteriorated. It is standard practice that when a claimant reports a change of circumstances as you have done, they do a reassessment - which can be telephone, video, face-to-face or paper-based. When you returned the form, did you also send in any additional evidence and explain the impact of the changes as related to the PIP criteria? If you feel you did, you could ask them to do a paper-based assessment. Unfortunately, they don't have to agree, but it's worth putting in the request. If they refuse you can appeal a second time, but after that, you would have to accept their decision.
