There is a backlog with claims, DWP are concentrating on new claims, I have heard that they are catching up but no date when things will get back to normal.

I would phone DWP first thing in the morning and ask, quite often claimants are given a years extension to their claim.

You do not have to be in receipt of PIP to get a blue badge, although it does help, you could try and get a supporting letter from your daughters doctor, also contact your local authority and speak to the department, I know many blue badge claimants who do not receive PIP.
