Bit of an odd question. was created by The Dog Mother
My sister sent me a screenshot of something she read recently, and I wonder if you can decifer it.
We think we get the meaning but are not totally sure.
It states.... "Many people over the age of 57 and nearing state pension age may not be aware of a change to Pip guidance in 2019 that states "Claiments whose review would have taken place when they were of states pension age means they are now generally awarded ongoing awards".

What has those aged 57 got to do with it?
Are they saying upon review if you are 57+ you are more likely to get a longer award?
Can someone please clarify. Grateful thanks in advance.

Hi The Dogs Mother

An Ongoing award is for a period not less than ten years with the claimant being reassessed sometime after the ten years have elapsed using an AR2 and Light Touch review.

At this time we know very little about the process, several members have posted that they were starting it but I am not aware of any reporting back on what happened.

Will open it up for forum members to comment on.

TDM, I’ve noticed a few people on B&W of a certain age group have had an ongoing award. It did make me wonder if it was getting to be a thing.

Oh really,that's interesting.
We were intrigued by what we read.
Perhaps it is becoming "A thing" then.
I'd never heard about it before.
I know one person with an ongoing award,so i understand that happens ,but he is nowhere near late 50s.
He's got a v rare blood condition that is life limiting. I will watch and wait for any further information. Thanks @Bud.

I wish it was true but I was last assessed at age 57 and I was awarded 3 years.
I challenged the length of the award and they gave me 4 years.
