Hello,

Back in 2015 I was finally awarded enhanced rate for daily living in PIP. - it was an application that eventually went to tribunal. Anyway… I have received my light touch review form. And although nothing has really changed with my conditions (as stated on the front of my forms “ you were awarded for an on going period because you have a long term health condition and your needs are unlikely to change.”

Which is true. My original claim was so traumatic. I am having so much anxiety about this review.

I have been open and honest and stating that “none of my needs in regards to my current award have changed. However, I am struggling with XYZ in addition to these”

And how when I claimed I used crutches. - I don’t get the mobility element only daily living. But I’ve added I can no longer use them. As they cause me more issues than they were resolving. Therefore they’re not a benefit.

My PIP pays for a PT who is well Informed about my condition and sets me things to do to basically stop me from needing a wheelchair. I’ve added this as well. Because it’s suggested I do low compact exercises to manage this.

Anyway, do light touch reviews require face to face assessments? This was not great for me last time. Hated it.

As I’ve stated nothing has changed with my current condition. But I now have 2 new conditions.

Will they take my PIP away?? Or is a light touch just that? A little check in… because my claim was indefinite..

I don’t want to go through this process again.

Thanks.

Hi CJW04

Light touch reviews are still a bit of a mystery, but the only people I have heard of having one - have been given a paper-based assessment and their award has continued as ongoing. The idea is that the DWP just want confirmation that your condition hasn't improved. I would not expect them to change the conditions of your PIP award, but obviously, until you get the letter confirming that, nothing is certain.
