Sorry for late update, I have been ill the last few days.

I did not email the manager as I received a message to contact UC (it was just to confirm an update) and I explained to them about the commitments meeting and my anxiety etc.
They said that regardless of medical conditions etc, ‘everyone’ has to attend the commitments meeting. I asked could it then be via telephone as I feel it is a reasonable adjustment. Advisor emailed request on Friday. I heard nothing.

I called UC yest and today for an update as my appointment for this commitment meeting is tomorrow morning, and I have just been told that they sent the email regarding the request for it to be via telephone on Friday but as of yet, no response.

Is it still worth emailing the manager at this late stage about my app tomorrow? I’m now scared if I don’t go it will mess up my claim.

In the middle of all this, my doctor has discussed with me the possibility that I may be on the spectrum (something I have suspected for a while) and has referred me to the ASD team and this morning at my checkup app at the doctors, my blood pressure is high at 141. I know it’s the stress of all this but I don’t know what to do.

Sorry for the ramblings

Catherine

Hi spaceinvader,

If I were you I would send the email as instructed to the Jobcentreplus manager. Otherwise some heavy handed person may close your UC claim or give you a sanction for not attending a Jobcentre interview. You have nothing to lose in making a complaint to the DWP. There are hundreds of complaints every day.
