CB ESA was created by Malcolm
Hi, my partner was moved from IR ESA to CB ESA last November when my new modest pension on turning 60, meant no longer eligible for IR ESA. So no longer on a legacy benefit, which means won't be a forced migration to UC by the end of this year.
But might he still be moved to a new ESA?
Or asked to be a natural migration due to a change in circumstances? ...
Also just has a PIP Review, which took over a year, was previously on enhanced daily allowance for mental health reasons (previously 17 now 22 points) and now also get enhanced mobility rate( previously zero now 22 points) backdated to September 2023 (thank you for all your advice), when told them about mental health deterioration and needing a wheelchair for outdoor use
I guess I am asking whether we can kind of relax following the increased PIP award, or do we need to still prepare for a potential reduction being moved from CB ESA to UC because of the same mental health deterioration and needing a wheelchair for outdoor use?
I have been so focused on sorting out the PIP review, it's only now I realise, I haven't told ESA about this and my partner is in no position to tell them himself. In ESA he is in the Limited capability for work addition and in the support group.
If I have to wake a sleeping dog at ESA, what's the best way to gently try to resolve this oversight on my part, as an unpaid family carer overwhelmed with the bureaucracy of our current and failing adult social care system?
Do PIP automatically share their very recent assessment with ESA?
Please forgive all the Q's, but our new labour government, is really stressing out my partner and me with all their tough talk about cutting disabled benefits.

Hi Malcolm,
You don't have to worry at present as you have just been given the enhanced awards for PIP and your contributions based ESA is exempt from UC Managed Migration. I'm happy to answer any further queries.

Hi Malcolm,
As he is in the ESA Support Group already the DWP will not be interested in a worsening of his health condition.
Just make sure you save any documentary evidence relating to it for future reviews.
