Mobility PIP ? was created by Paul
Hello
I am new to these forums, but I am hoping that someone can signpost me in the right direction. I get PIP for the Daily living part, but not the mobility element, despite the fact that I had a full double hip replacement in 2019 and as a result suffer severe back pain and mobility issues (I am 66 years old and retired) Has anyone else had a similar experience ? Thank You

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum. You can find information on the site here benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq
I'm not sure from what you have said whether you have tried for mobility and been turned down. In which case you need to put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration.
If you haven't had a recent review - you can put in for a change of circumstances to review your mobility. However, you will have to do it very quickly. You say you are 'retired' but am I right in assuming that you have yet reached State Pension Age? If you haven't reached SPA - then you need to act quickly because there are strict criteria around claiming PIP mobility
If a claimant gets awarded PIP mobility before they reach SPA - then it will continue on after they reach the SPA milestone.
If a claimant has a standard mobility award it can not be increased to enhanced after they reach SPA
If a claimant has no mobility award before they reach SPA - they cannot claim it after they reach that milestone.
Forms are being processed very slowly - which is why I would advise you to act quickly or you may find that you will be turned down just on your age.
