Hi ZombiesRock,
I have just picked up this post of yours. I will need to look in more detail at the Benefits regulations regarding 5 April 2020 and then get back to you.

Hi ZombiesRock,
The significance of the 5 April 2020 is the date that the transitional protection for those who moved from Incapacity Benefit to ESA ends, see below.
Termination of transitional addition
21.—(1) Any entitlement to a transitional addition which a person (“T”) may have by virtue of these Regulations terminates on whichever is the earlier of—
(a)the reduction in accordance with regulations 18 to 20 (reducing the transitional addition: general rule and increases for dependent children and adult dependants) of the amount of the transitional addition to nil;
(b)subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), the termination in accordance with the enactments applied by regulation 16 of T’s entitlement to an employment and support allowance; and
(c)5th April 2020.
As I previously mentioned you will need to phone ESA or Housing Benefit and ask why your capital is currently disregarded and for how long . We are looking for the words " official error ".
Let me know how you get on.

HI David
Aren't they saying though that it will be disregarded for 12 months following date of issue and thereafter won't be? : '
'We will not add £17470 to any other capital or savings you have told us about until your claim ends. If you make a new claim for benefits from 5th April 2020 your benefit may be affected by this payment.'

Hi ZombiesRock,
As I have said previously we need to get an answer from someone in an official capacity such as the DWP or the Council's Housing Benefit department.

Do you know which ESA claimants won't be migrated until 2026 or is it just random?
