ESA Reporting Changes - ESACOC 02/24 was created by Juniper 0165
I have just received confirmation of the increase in ESA this year. Included was a leaflet about ESA reporting changes. I have been on Contributory ESA for a very long time, so my award is not income related. I understand that you have to inform the DWP of changes, such as change of address and if your condition changes etc. There seems to a great number of things listed that you need to inform the DWP about that I have not had to do in the past. I have been caught out by this before as I was not aware that I should have informed them of a one of payment from my private pension, in order to fund a powered wheelchair and a wheelchair accessible van. I am aware that there have been big changes to ESA. Could some one please clarify what you have to report to them if you are on the old contributory based ESA?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hi Juniper 0165,
Here is an extract from Gov.uk regarding reporting changes for New Style ESA which is the same as Contributions Based ESA.
Reporting a change of circumstances
You need to report changes to your circumstances so you keep getting the right amount of New Style ESA (and Universal Credit if you are claiming both).
Your claim might be stopped or reduced if you do not report a change straight away.
A change of circumstance can include:
any changes to your health condition or disability
going into hospital or a care home or sheltered accommodation
starting or stopping work, education, training or an apprenticeship
moving house
changing your name
changes to your pension
changing your doctor
going abroad for any length of time
Call the New Style ESA helpline if you’re not sure whether you need to report a change.
