Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Steven
Sorry to hear that you are being messed about. Remember to read the BenefitsandWork guides about WCA interviews.
Let me know how you get on.

A WCA telephone consult isn't possible at all - I can't speak to anyone unknown on the phone or in person. They know this and my doctor has backed this up with medical documentation.
They have provided no reasons as to why they previously excused me then changed their mind.
They have put a message on the journal stating that the WCA telephone call is set to go ahead at the date / time specified on the letter.
I have responded back telling them that it would not be possible for this to happen and to refer to previous medical documentation that they have been sent and telling them that everything that they should need to know about my conditions and how they affect me have been documented on the UC50 so they should have all the information they need.
What would be the most likely outcome now because this WCA isn't possible for me?
Is there any specialist advise I could get from citizens advice etc without having to physically speak to someone on the phone or in person?
This is so difficult and stressful to deal with and sometimes, I think thoughts that I probably shouldn't.

Hi Steven,
You can speak to C.A.B by live chat - I only just done this myself last week. I am the same, i prefer email and live chat over talking, I find it stressful, and often say the wrong things that I didn't want too, which makes me feel worse.
I would've thought that your WCA - surely they can assess you as paper based only, especially if you're unable to talk in person or on the phone, but I would definitely make it known to them again in your journal, to cover yourself, that you've tried everything possible to explain this to them.
It's really tough when you're having them sort of thought - I've been there myself on more than one occassion, and there is a service like Samaritans that you can actually text I believe, so you don't have to speak to anybody. It's also hard if you don't feel like you can turn to family, or friends, even by text, or Whatsapp for example, it can make you feel so lonely, and stuck for where to turn too, but remember the internet can be your friend, and whatever advice you're looking for, Google often has this
I hope I've helped with your question, and keep your chin up my friend - you can do this!

The people who conduct the WCA tried to call (Maximus?) but I couldn't answer / speak to them as they were already told on the journal.
I've left multiple messages on the journal over the last 10 days but these remain un-responded to.
Citizens Advice live chat were no help and said they only deal with new claims and for anything else, I'd need to speak to them either over the phone or in person which again, isn't possible.
It's almost 1 full year now since starting the UC claim and this still isn't sorted out. Such a nightmare.

Hi Steven,
I'm still on mine awaiting an outcome since June 2023. It's been back and forwards to tribunals involving FtT and Upper.
