Disabled adult living with parents, claim UC?

So much extra worry and stress when you feel responsible for a loved one and their Migration Notice arrives!

Can a disabled adult living with their elderly parents qualify for UC if they, understandably, do not pay rent?

Even as i read this back to myself, I know it sounds such a silly question . . . but what happens in that situation?

Does the disabled claimant (that sounds awful, I don't mean it to) qualify for a reduced rate of UC because they live at home with parents?

Are many members choosing not to migrate to UC?

Hi KB

Yes your adult child can claim Universal Credit.
You can get assistance with this from Citizens Advice. The help is not just restricted to Managed Migration claims. Here is a link to Citizens Advice --

Let me know how you get on.
