Hello.

Please delete my over thread it wasn’t finished and submitted it.

I wasn’t aware of any capital limit.

I now know due to me receiving my migration letter arriving and looking into things more.

£6000 limit and up £16,000. You receive less in between.

From may 2023 to may 2024 my account went from 6000 to 10000.

At this point I decided to get my finances in order and pay my mum and dad back for my part of the new kitchen and all living expenses serveral large transfers over 2 months Also brought some gold and silver for any issues in the future. Operations and so on.

My account since then has gone down to around £1000 over serveral months.

Should I call the dwp now or migrate over now and tell them somewhere.

Since knowing this I have become ill, feel sick with worrying.

Most important is this.

Will it upset the migration deadline of April if the account is suspended.

Thank you.

Hi Table,

I think it would be a good idea to make yourself familiar with the DWP Guidance regarding savings etc. The link is here --
www.gov.uk/guidance/universal-credit-mon...ings-and-investments

As far as UC Managed Migration is concerned I am pretty sure that a Compliance investigation will not delay the move to UC.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you.

I will look at that link.

I think it was unclear. When letters in post would any change in circumstances. I guessed it meant health circumstances only.

Once I found this out my mind is out of control. I am struggling to type this. Absolutely drained.

Should i phone the dwp now? Immediately.

Or migration online now? And tell there.

So to clarify.

Didn't know of capital limit

I went over the 6000 limit starting from spring 2023 to spring 2024. 10000 at this point.

In the summer of 2024 I paid back parents for living expenses. Never paid enough.

This is the reason why the money built up. It’s sad. Really sad. Now there is an overpayment.

1-2k transfers total 5k for parents

also metal 4k. Gold silver

So a lot over 3 months.

Account from after this went down to around 1-2k and is same now.

Do I call them now and explain. How serious is it?

How pedantic are they if your account goes say 50 pounds over 60000 for 2 weeks. Then it’s down to 4-5k after something is bought

David I know you said the compliance team should not stop the move over.

But then then I have moved over without telling them first

Declare metal in savings when moving over. But I never told them I brought it last summer.

As the price of metal increases you pushed out of capital limit?

I want it sold to parents or back as cash.
