Whilst I'm happy to print off my banks statements and send copies to the DWP to verify my accounts, I do think it's a bit much that we're now going to be expected to install an unknown software on our devices (and with all the extra effort of reading the relevant terms and conditions and privacy policy, which in my experience often results in links to other company's privacy policies and T&Cs, and yes, I do read such things so I l know what i'm going to be expected to agree to, even if it takes me 2 weeks to wade through it all), if we want to continue to receive financial support because of conditions that are, mostly, not of our own making or choice.
Sorry, but this is starting to feel more like a totalitarian state by the day. Exactly what did disabled people do, to deserve to be treated as almost less than human.

Hi somebody-else
We have experienced a similar project with UC several years ago which had to be pulled.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm afraid I have little faith in large government IT systems - especially in governments' ability to keep confidential information confidential, or to interpret any data they glean, accurately. If they could, they wouldn't currently be carrying out yet another campaign aimed at attacking disabled people and blaming them for the state of the economy.

Well I finally bit the bullet and started the process to move form ESA to UC.
I found the process very anxiety inducing and I just hope I did everything correctly and that the move goes without a hiccup, time will tell I guess.
I will keep this thread updated as things progress.
Many thanks to everyone who helps to keep B&W running, you are greatly appreciated by me and many others.
All the best,
Keith

Quick update
Had a phone call from UC today to verify some stuff.
The guy I spoke with was really great to be fair and the call was all done and dusted in 25min.
He was able to tell me that my ID had been verified, that I was approved for UC, he put through that I continue to get paid twice a month and confirmed that I have transitional protection and will be no worse off.
He also said he would process that my rent be paid direct to my landlord but cautioned that this might not happen with the first payment and I should check to make sure, he said it should all be good going forward after that first payment.
He also told me that I had no commitments to fulfil, he just advised me to keep an eye on my journal for any messages from them.
He talked to me about the advanced payment and how that all worked, I declined the advanced payment.
All in all he was very helpful, willing to stop and listen to my questions and explain things to me - I have to say I was pleasantly surprised because all my prior dealings with the DWP have been very poor.
I just need to wait now for my first payment statement and make sure the amounts are indeed correct - He also told me I would get another 2 weeks of my ESA paid
I am now feeling a little less stressed.
B&W helped immensely and with all the information provided by them I was able to prepare myself the best I could.
I will update again once I have my first statement or if there are any other changes.
Thanks everyone.
All the best,
Keith

Hi Keith
Thank you for your update. It is good to know what is actually happening at the moment.
Here are some instructions on how to examine your UC statements--
