This is not a party political post but a personal plea for fairness.
I have written to my (Labour) MP asking him to support me and other disabled constituents when voting on proposed benefit cuts, rather than toeing the party line. I have always been an active advocate for the more vulnerable members of society and now find myself among them. Although I am but one voice, I cannot fail to at least try to make my voice heard. Can I ask that as many of you as are able contact their MP to ask that they consider the very real hardships experienced by disabled people before making our lives even harder. So make your voice heard. Sign petitions. Write a brief email. Many single voices make a lot of noise when used together. Good luck everyone

I've already messaged my MP using the 'Scope' charity campaign tool. Several charities have these, they make it very easy. I personalised mine about the £24 cost per hospital trip if our daughter were to accompany her very sick husband by bus, which they would both find near impossible due to the walking between and standing waiting. A taxi costs £18.60 for there and back. I politely implied anyone who drives probably does not know these costs!

Please please could everyone that can, and if not get some assistance to message your MP about the disability benefit cuts. I have sent mine to Keir Starmer who is our local MP and one from my son. I am so angered and saddened that the very people many of us hoped would be on the side of sick and disabled people it turns out are as bad as those before. I write on behalf of my son who is severely disabled, as I am his appointee and cannot believe that yet again sick and disabled are picked on and demonised which only gives society the go ahead to point their anger and hatred towards those very vulnerable people politicians are constantly saying they wish to protect. Are they having a laugh!!!!? So please as Mother said write to your MP generic letters can be found. I was sent mine from Inclusion London You can add your own take on things. We need to make our dismay, fear and anger heard loud and clear.
Thanks

I have contacted as many Labour MPs as possible. I only learned last night about the heartless plan to increase the points making over
£1 million people no longer able to qualify for PIP!!
I can't believe Labour are actually much worse than the Tories!
How low can they go???

I had an appointment booked with my MP about my concerns regarding changes to welfare benefits but I asked for it to be postponed until after the budget, as I made it clear to her what my concerns are. As the wife of a disabled husband working in the benefits specialist sector myself, I have multiple concerns. Unfortunately I have had to partly step away as my Dad died suddenly on 8th March. But I am still trying to keep up to date, signing petitions and will put pressure on my MP
