Cont Based ESA and income based esa claim was created by AshleyMcab
Can any one help
Advising couple who are moving house from one area of Scotland to another who claim ESA at moment which I think is combined Cont and Income base ESA. They have to claim UC so trying to work out both elements.
Ib ESA replaced by UC and cont based continued to be paid and deducted from UC.
So of following what is Cont and what is Inc based fro last letter they got
Living expenses for you and partner. £142.25
Extra money because you are. £81.50
severely disabled
Extra money because your partner. £45.60
is a carer
Extra money because of the Disability £29.75
Income Gaurantee
Limited capability for work addition. £47.70
Which gives total income related. £346.80
Carer Allowance. £81.90
Income related entitlement
Both members of couple get ADP
Enh Daily Living and Mobility
Thanks in anticipation

Hi AshlleyMcab
If your friend moves to another local authority then they can continue to receive their ESA, it is only a new claim for rental housing costs/Housing Benefit that is not allowed.
Have you tried using the Benefits calculators such as Entitledto.co.uk ?

Hi thanks for reply
They will be claiming UC for Housing costs but does this not affect their ESA which may have Income based top up element or does it continue on in full because it is a cont based ESA with Income Based top up.

Hi AshleyMcab
Once your friend claims UC he/she will lose all the ESA premiums such as the Disability Income Guarantee and any Income Based ESA top up. As you are in Scotland I am not familiar with ADP. You could try phoning the Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number.
