Just had a message from uc to say we both cant claim the carers premium, I've had to choose who gets it.
I was assured by Help to Claim my benefit income wouldnt change as covered by transtional protection. So thats already going to be reduced by deducting one carer premium. We both care for each other, that wont change.

Is this correct if we have trans protection?

The transitional protection is a fixed amount, and it won't cover the loss of one of your carers premiums.
