Thank you all - this is such a helpful series of posts which I will be glad to refer to in future. My son has always received standard mobility and we are happy with that, but have had to fight for it since PIP was introduced. At his last review, we had to go as far as appealing the decision, but when speaking to the DWP representative who phoned me and reinstated his award, I mentioned that his father always takes him to work - a familiar journey - as we could never be sure he had arrived unless he did so. Ever since, I've wondered if the DWP might have thought that a tribunal would have awarded enhanced mobility and whether that was why he agreed to reinstate my son's award so quickly. Even having completed your courses, it's really difficult to understand the complicated nuances and the legal aspects of PIP and fit the problems to the descriptors, so it's always helpful to read about other people's experiences.
