PIP Reviews: Case managers extending awards

I can't tell you what to do here - this is something that you will have to choose for yourself. You do have two options.

Refuse the four-year revision: the existing appeal continues, and you ask the tribunal to award PIP on an ongoing basis.

Accept the four-year revision: the improved duration is secured, the present appeal automatically lapses, and you could then make a fresh appeal against the revised decision—challenging only the duration.

Even if you accept it over the phone - you can tell them you still have the right to appeal - or send a letter after the call. Don't let them bully you into anything.

"I agree to the proposed four-year award being put into effect. However, I do not agree that a four-year award properly reflects the lifelong and stable nature of my functional limitations. I believe an ongoing award with a light-touch review is appropriate. Please issue the revised decision in writing with full appeal rights. I do not waive my right to appeal against the duration of that revised award."
