PIP2 form Q5 - Managing treatment question was created by FK
I am in the process of filling out the PIP2 form for my Long Covid struggles and I'm very confused about the 2 parts of Question 5 - Managing treatment.
Q5b is about monitoring the condition and Q5c is about managing treatments at home.
What about all the treatments I have to do in person?
It feels like these 2 components don't cover the reality of what managing all treatments is...
I have to go to several appointments a week, arrange them, book a taxi if I can't do public transport, remember the timing, cancel if I have a crash, have energy to tell the doctors about how I am that week, etc. Does all this not count because it's the admin around the treatment rather than doing the treatment itself for myself?
My treatments including home and away add up to 15 hours, so been hoping to score the max points here but now I'm unsure.
Am I misunderstanding the point of this question entirely?

Everyone is different but in general you will score more points the more that your disabilities restrict you from managing your treatments yourself. For instance someone who needs a helper/carer to attend to this will score a greater number of points.
Here is the introduction to the relevant section of the BenefitsandWork guide:-
Q5 Managing your treatments (Activity 3)
What this activity is about
This activity looks at your ability to reliably take medication and to monitor your health by, for example, checking your blood sugar and also to carry out therapeutic activities such as exercise. If it takes you a long time, you can’t do it safely, to a reasonable standard or as often as you need to then you should definitely complete this section.
Here is the link to the PIP guide and I would advise you to read from P44 onwards.
